ORDERS

Orders can be taken via our Facebook page, telephone, email, WhatsApp or in person.  Personal consultations must be booked in advance. Your name and contact details will be required with all orders.

All prices are non-negotiable and will be priced according to the design and size of your cake.  We provide a basic price list but this may not be the final price as this will depend on the final design. Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by another cake maker will only be reproduced as our interpretation and will not be an exact copy.

Please take into account the venue and weather conditions when choosing your cake design.  A chocolate or buttercreamed covered cake in a marquee in the height of summer may not be the best idea!!

The size of the cakes quoted are only approximate,  The size is determined by the size of the tin we bake it in and it is possible for the cake to shrink by a small amount during the cooking process.

INGREDIENTS AND ALLERGENS

All of our cakes are hand made using natural ingredients.  We do not use nuts in our cakes (unless specifically asked for e.g in Nutella or walnuts in the coffee and walnut cake) but, as we bake in a domestic kitchen, we cannot guarantee the environment that the cakes are made in is completely nut free.

Our fruit cakes do not contain nuts but the marzipan covering it will contain nuts. Our fruit cakes also contain alcohol.  If you prefer a fruit cake without marzipan or alcohol please let us know at time of ordering.

Nut-free, baked without gluten, dairy-free, vegan and alcohol-free cakes can be made on request but we cannot guarantee that these cakes will not contain trace amounts of these ingredients due to the nature of production.

Although we will do our best to ensure that these allergens are not present in the cakes provided, Little Flower Cakes accepts no liability for customers suffering allergic reactions from eating our cakes.

WE ARE SORRY BUT WE CANNOT BAKE CAKES FOR CUSTOMERS WITH SERVERE ALLERGIES.

DEPOSITS / PAYMENTS

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required for celebration cakes, For wedding cakes a non-refundable deposit of £100 is due when booking more than six months before your wedding. If you are ordering your wedding cake within 1 month of your wedding date 50% is due on ordering. This secures your order and saves the date. If your deposit is not paid within 1 month (for wedding cakes) or 14 days (For celebration cakes) of quoting then we reserve the right to cancel any previous arrangements.

As we are limited to the amount of cakes we can produce in a week we cannot guarantee the date will be free if a deposit is not paid within this time frame.

Wedding and tiered cakes must be paid for in full 7 days prior to delivery/collection.

If full payment is not received before or on collection then the cake will not be released.

ALTERATIONS AND CHANGES

It is your responsibility to check the order details thoroughly.  Any amendments to the design should be made in writing. If requested, we will endeavour to adjust the design where possible, but sometimes this is not possible according to the nature of the request or amount of notice given. If the alteration affects the cost, or preparation work for the original design has already been undertaken, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly.  Please warn us when you pay your deposit if you are undecided on the design.

We reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control, may compromise the quality of the finished cake, e.g. melting due to weather.

STORAGE AND CONSUMPTION

Cakes should be left in the boxes they are supplied in and kept at room temperature until ready to be displayed.  They should not be refrigerated as this can cause condensation to form on the icing and may damage the decoration.

Cakes uncut should last 5-7 days depending on weather conditions and storage.  We recommend that sponge cakes should be eaten within 48 hours of being cut to be at their best.

We can supply a portion chart and cutting guide.  Please let us know if you would like us to provide one.

Please note that some models MAY contain an internal support.  You will be informed of this upon collection.  Wedding cakes and other tiered cakes will contain non edible internal supports.  If icing flower sprays are requested they may be placed in plastic pics inserted into the cake to prevent any wires contaminating the cake.

DELIVERY/COLLECTION AND SET UP

To ensure your cake is at its best condition we work to the date requested at time of ordering.  Earlier collection may not be possible without 1 weeks’ notice.

Celebration Cakes are usually collected.   We may be able to deliver locally if required. Please ask for a delivery quote when ordering.

Wedding cake and tiered delivery is free for the first 6 miles from Thame thereafter there will be a charge of 75p per mile.  This a there and back charge.  Mileage as calculated by Google.  For example - Aylesbury (depending where in Aylesbury)  is approximately 10 miles from Thame, the first 6 miles are free so the charge would be 4 x 75p total £3.

All celebration cakes will be supplied in a cake box.

If cakes are to be collected we request that the cake is transported in the boot of a car or in the front footwell.  If transported in the footwell please ensure the heater is not blowing on it.  They must be kept flat and not put on a car seat or on a passengers lap.  They should not be left in the car for any length of time as heat from the sun or damp or condensation may damage it.

Little Flower Cakes accept no responsibility for any damaged caused by handling or transportation once having left our premises.

We prefer to set up Wedding and tiered Cakes if at all possible, so we can be assured that the cake is set up correctly and shown to its best advantage.  We cannot be held liable for any damage that is rendered to the cake at the venue once we have left the premises. It is with this in mind that we require somebody responsible, to check that they are happy with the cake before we leave. Please take extra care to ensure a stable cake table is available if you are having a marquee wedding, as surrounding floorboards can easily rock the cake once stood on. Photographs will be taken once set up to show how we left it.  Cake boxes will be left at the venue for you to transport any cake home.

FRESH FLOWERS

If you wish for fresh flowers to be used then these are not included in the price. We can work with your florist but expect you to make all the necessary arrangements with the florists. Please ensure your florist uses pesticide and insecticide free flowers.  Some flowers can be toxic or poisonous so please take care when choosing your flowers.

We cannot take responsibility for any damage rendered to the cake caused by a floral arrangement that was implemented by your florist.

If fresh flowers are used, the cake will be set-up as late as feasibly possible to ensure their freshness throughout the day, but depending on the varieties used & the weather conditions at the time, it may be advisable for you to cut the cake relatively early on in the proceedings to ensure their freshness for the photography.

Please note Little Flower Cakes are not responsible for any problems with your fresh flowers.

PHOTOGRAPHS and REVIEWS

We take photographs of all the cakes we make and reserve the right to use these on our Facebook page or website and in any advert or promotional material after your cake has been collected/delivered.  You are very welcome to use any photographs we take but we request that we are given credit for the cake and photograph.

We reserve the right to publish any review on our Facebook page to our Testimonial page on our website.  If you do not wish your name to be used please let us know.

COMPLAINTS

We want you to be 100% happy with your cake.  Corrections to inscriptions & minor changes when things are wrong can usually be carried out on the same day in most cases and you are required to give us the opportunity to do this. You must notify us of the problem within 1 hour of collecting your cake.

If you are not happy with your cake then please let us know within 24 hours of collection or delivery. We take complaints very seriously and will need to investigate and assess the nature of the complaint. Therefore we will need to see the cake or what is left.  Refunds will not be given for any cake which has been consumed regardless of dispute, as consumption of the cake is viewed as your acceptance that the cake is adequate for the purpose for which it has been supplied. Photographs of any problem will not be accepted.
